Dr Flache, a famous psychiatrist, is about to leave Paris and retire to the south of France, leaving his patients, his elegant 18th-century villa and his nurse. But he hasn’t reckoned with the sudden intrusion in his surgery of Jean-Louis followed by the charming Missia, each demanding an examination of their spouse, whom they think has gone crazy…

In 1934, divorce was still a sensitive subject. In “Act of Folly”, Sacha Guitry broke a taboo with uncanny foresight but also with humour and refinement.
